BOCA RATON. Fla. – Upset after upset, the Florida Atlantic Owls continue to defy the odds and move on in March Madness as they make their first Final Four appearance in program history. Of all the Final Four teams remaining, FAU has the longest odds to win the championship at +600.

FAU Futures Odds Journey
Online gambling sites originally didn’t list FAU’s odds to win March Madness until early February, but even then, their odds came in at a massive +25000. It took them a month to see their odds drop to +20000 just before the start of the tournament.
Once the tournament began and they won their first-round matchup, their March Madness odds dropped to +5000 and somehow remained there through the Round of 32 and Sweet 16. They were listed as the largest underdog prior to the Sweet 16.
After the Sweet 16, their odds fell to +1400 in the Elite 8 and eventually came down to +600.
Similar to their tournament odds to be the overall winner, their odds to win the East Region were in a massive underdog situation as well opening at +3500. They went into the second round with +500 odds, +450 odds in the Sweet 16, and finished off with +100 odds in the Elite 8.
FAU’s Journey to The Final Four
In three of FAU’s four tournament games up to this point, online sportsbooks listed them as an underdog. In their Round of 64 matchup with the Memphis Tigers, they were a 1.5-point underdog with +105 odds and won the game 66-65.
In the Round of 32 against #16 seeded Fairleigh Dickinson, they were a massive 12.5-point favorite with -1300 odds to win and did just that with a 78-70 final score.
Their Sweet 16 matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers saw them as 4.5-point underdogs and +175 odds to win the game. They held Tennessee to under 60 points and won the game 62-55.
In their most recent game against Kansas State in the Elite 8, they were just 1-point underdogs with +105 moneyline odds and came out on top 79-76.
Now in the Final Four against San Diego State, they are underdogs once again at +2 points on the spread and +115 odds on the moneyline.
Betting on FAU to win each of their March Madness games could have been extremely profitable. When betting in $100 units, a $393 profit could have been made betting on FAU in Florida when taking their moneyline odds. When starting with $100 and rolling over the profit from FAU’s moneyline odds from the game before, the profit would have been even bigger at $1,372.
