HOUSTON – Avid gamblers in the Houston, Texas area are thrilled about the new tribal casino being built in Polk County. The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe announced their plans to build a massive casino with an expansive gambling floor and great eats.
“We are incredibly excited to embark on this new chapter,” said Ricky Sylestine, Tribe Council Chairman. “This new casino resort will not only provide significant economic effects for this living and working in the region, but it will also become a vibrant destination for visitors.”
The economic effects of the current Naskila Casino are well documented on their website with $212 million in total regional impact. They also carry 409 employees that earn an average annual salary of $50,000.
What About Naskila Casino In Polk County?
With the United States Supreme Court recently ruling in favor of the tribes, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe can expand their gaming facilities in Polk County. Naskila Casino, the tribe’s current bingo hall, has been in a Texas gambling battle with state officials for years over its legality.
Now that the Supreme Court overturned the decision that the tribe’s gaming rights were governed by the Texas Restoration Act, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe is free to build another location. The new Alabama-Coushatta Tribe casino expects to dwarf the current Naskila Casino in size, meaning more jobs and greater economic impact on the region.
