- Matt Corral out of Ole Miss has become the +210 betting favorite to win the Heisman.
- Bryce Young has +230 odds as the only other athlete close to Corral.
- CJ Stroud, Desmond Ridder, and Spencer Rattler share a +1800 betting line as the next options.
OXFORD, Miss. – Matt Corral has officially taken the title of Heisman Trophy betting favorite after the conclusion of Week 3 of the college football season. As a matter of fact, sportsbooks are already calling it a two-horse race.
Matt Corral As The New Favorite: Will He Hold?
Matt Corral, despite not playing an SEC opponent yet, has become the Heisman Trophy favorite after three games. He has had 997 yards, nine touchdowns, and no interceptions for his passing game and has added 158 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Online gambling sites had him listed at about +2500 prior to the season.
Matt Corral Heisman Odds
- Before The Season +2500
- Before Week 3 +450
- After Week 3 +210
Whether Corral is a legitimate option to win the Heisman trophy is up for debate but it doesn’t seem like the time to tail him as he has yet to face an SEC defense. Putting up good numbers against Louisville, Austin Peay and Tulane might not be enough to prove himself. College football betting sites may be overreacting with their odds jumps on him.
Bryce Young: The Second Choice
Bryce Young has the benefit of being the quarterback of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Not only is he super talented but his teammates make his job significantly easier. He has impressed through three games with a total of 811 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Plus, he’s beaten two ranked teams already.
Bryce Young Heisman Odds
- Before The Season +1000
- Before Week 3 +325
- After Week 3 +230
Young may be deserving of the favorite as his numbers are not quite up to par with Corral but he has had the more impressive season beating two ranked teams through three weeks. Young and Corral will play one another in Week 5 and when Alabama inevitably wins, this could be the best price Young will be at for the rest of the season.
A Big Gap Between The Field: CJ Stroud, Spencer Rattler, Desmond Ridder
Just three weeks into the season and online sportsbooks have already cut the field down to two people, essentially. After the two favorites, the next options are listed at +1800 on the odds boards.
Heisman Trophy Odds
- CJ Stroud +1800
- Desmond Ridder +1800
- Spencer Rattler +1800
Of the three, Spencer Rattler may be the best bet as the preseason favorite. He has 761 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions while adding a pair of touchdowns on the ground. The Oklahoma Sooners offense is one of the most high-powered in the country and more breakout games are sure to come before the season ends.
