- The No. 19 BYU Cougars are 4.5-point underdogs to the unranked Baylor Bears.
- The Michigan State Spartans have -115 odds to cover the 4.5-point spread against the Indiana Hoosiers.
- The Iowa State Cyclones are 6.5-point betting favorites against the Kansas State Wildcats.
LAS VEGAS – An early look at the betting lines for the seventh week of the college football season highlights some interesting odds for certain matchups.
No. 19 BYU Cougars Vs. Baylor Bears
The Baylor Bears, despite being an unranked team, are favored over the No. 19-ranked BYU Cougars on sports gambling sites. Usually, when an unranked team is favored over a ranked one, it’s for a good reason.
Baylor Vs. BYU Spread Odds
- Baylor Bears -4.5 -110
- BYU Cougars +4.5 -110
The Bears seemingly have the clean sweep across the board, as they both score more and allow fewer points and also gain more and allow fewer yards. BYU is coming off of a loss to the Boise State Broncos, so those who believe this is an overreaction due to recency bias could get the Cougars at a generous price.
ESPN will have coverage of the game beginning at 3:30 p.m. EST on Saturday.
No. 10 Michigan State Spartans Vs. Indiana Hoosiers
The Indiana Hoosiers have been one of the more disappointing teams in the country this season. After starting the year in the rankings, Indiana has gone 2-3 and is being outscored 28.2-23.8 on average. Despite their struggles, they’re only listed as 4.5-point underdogs to the Michigan State Spartans.
Michigan State Vs. Indiana Spread Odds
- Michigan State -4.5 -110
- Indiana Hoosiers +4.5 -110
The Spartans are 4-1-1 ATS this season while Indiana is 1-4 ATS. Michigan State was given the same line against Rutgers last week and won by 18 points. A similar result could be in play this weekend. The game is set to start at 12:00 p.m. EST on Saturday and can be seen on FS1.
Iowa State Cyclones Vs. Kansas State Wildcats
This has all the makings of a line that college football betting sites have simply miscalculated. The Iowa State Cyclones are outgaining their opponents by over 200 yards per game while the Kansas State Wildcats are doing so by less than 20 yards per game.
Kansas State Vs. Iowa State Spread Odds
- Iowa State Cyclones -6.5 -110
- Kansas State Wildcats +6.5 -110
The Cyclones are also outscoring their competition by an average of 18.2 points per game while the Wildcats have an average scoring margin of just +5.8 points per game. Iowa State won this game 45-0 last year and while it may not be that lopsided again, it shouldn’t be too close either.
ESPN2 will air the game at 7:30 p.m. EST on Saturday.
