- The official schedule for the World Series of Pokers (WSOP) 2022 has been announced alongside the buy-ins for each event.
- The tournament begins on May 31st with the main event starting July 3.
LAS VEGAS – The biggest poker tournament of the year will kick off in a few months as Caesars Entertainment announced the schedule and buy-ins for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2022.
This is the first time the US poker event will run as planned in two years; things were canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic and then postponed in 2021 for the same reason.
Additionally, Caesars will not have a vaccine mandate for the event, something that was required in 2021.
WSOP 2022
The tournament will kick off on Tuesday, May 31st, with a $500 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold’em event. On the same day, there will be a $100,000 High Roller Bounty No-Limit Hold’em event.
Multiple events will run throughout June and early July with a standout being the $500 House Warming No-Limit Hold’em Flight event with a $5 million guaranteed prize pool.
The Main Event will begin on Sunday, July 3. This $10,000 buy-in event attracts the biggest poker players in the world and saw 6,650 contestants in 2021.
“This year is particularly historic for the WSOP with its move to the heart of the Las Vegas Strip and debut in the best facilities we’ve ever had,” said Ty Stewart, the WSOP’s Executive Director. “We’re ready to welcome players from all over the world to our housewarming party at Bally’s, soon-to-be Horseshoe, and Paris. The schedule is jam-packed with first-class events and we expect this to be the biggest and most anticipated WSOP yet.”
WSOP Has A New Home
The tournament will be held at the Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas Casinos. This will be the largest capacity for a poker tournament in US gambling history. The combined venues will see 600 poker tables across more than 200,000 square feet.
With the lack of a vaccine mandate, it is predicted that an even larger turnout will occur this year than last. The entire tournament will be broadcasted on CBS Sports and streamed on the PokerGo app.
