HOUSTON – The 2022-23 college basketball season is finally here and now is the last chance to get in on preseason March Madness odds before they begin to shift throughout the season. After coming off of a National Championship win last season, the Kansas Jayhawks are opening the season with some tremendous value and have many factors pointing to them contending for it once again this season.
Kansas Jayhawks March Madness Odds
- National Championship Odds: +1400
- Odds To Make Final Four: +450
Bovada has given the Jayhawks some questionable opening odds to win the CBB championship. Especially considering that they are the #5 ranked team in the country and have done some tremendous work to remain contenders. They are going into the season as the 25th highest scoring team in the country last season at 78.2 ppg while holding their opponents to just 67.3 ppg. In terms of where their odds have opened, this is the fourth time in five seasons that their odds have opened at or under +1200 odds to win March Madness. Their odds to make the Final Four should also be considered highly of being that they have made the Final Four in two of the last five seasons.
Backing their odds is the recruiting that they did in the offseason that is bringing in a five-star commit (Gradey Dick), three four-star commits (MJ Rice, Ernest Udeh, Zuby Ejiofor), and a four-star transfer (Kevin McCullar).
Duke Blue Devils March Madness Odds
- National Championship Odds: +1200
- Odds To Make Final Four: +500
Off of their name alone, their CBB odds on online gambling sites could continue to be trusted each year and the 2022-23 season is no different. At their +1200 odds, it is the fourth time in ten seasons that their opened odds have been over +1000. Their odds to make the Final Four could also be trusted as they’ve made the round twice in their last seven seasons.
They have all the making of a championship team this season with the number one overall recruiting class in the country. A class that has four five-star recruits and two, two-star recruits.
Duke is coming off of a godly season that saw them as the eighth highest scoring team in the country with 80.1 ppg. They also stood their ground on the defensive end as the fourth-best defense in the ACC allowing 67.8 ppg. With such a talented roster going into the season, they should be one of the hardest teams to pass up on their odds.
Alabama Crimson Tide March Madness Odds
- National Championship Odds: +5000
- Odds To Make Final Four: +1200
Although Alabama has never made a Final Four appearance and has only been to the March Madness tournament three times in the last 10 years, they are worth a few bucks given the massive preseason odds they were given. They are going into the season ranked #20 and have what it takes to push as a top-10 team in the country. Not only is their recruiting class fifth in the country with two five-star freshmen coming in, but they did a great job in the transfer portal as well bringing in four-star transfers, Mark Sears and Dominick Welch.
They are also returning one of their top scorers from last season in Jahvon Quinerly and senior big man, Noah Gurley. Oddsmakers have also been on their side in recent seasons having opened at +5000 or less for the third straight year after opening at +7000 or more in eight straight seasons before that. Similarly, their odds to win the SEC Tournament and SEC regular season championship are the lowest in the last ten seasons as well.
