- The Atlanta Hawks have a shot to pull off an epic upset win in Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers.
- The Sixers are notable favorites, with -300 odds to win the game.
- On the spread, the Hawks are seven point underdogs.
PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia 76ers managed to come back to tie their series against the Atlanta Hawks up and force a pivotal Game 7.
The Hawks squandered a chance to force the Sixers out of the playoffs, but they still have one more shot at pulling off the upset. This series has been disappointing for the Sixers, who were expected to roll through the playoffs at least until they hit the Eastern Conference Finals.
However, Joel Embiid has been hampered by a nagging meniscus injury, while Ben Simmons has been - and there’s really no other way to say this - completely exposed by the Hawks.
The Hawks have resorted to Hack-A-Shaq strategy against Simmons, to the point that he had to be benched in the fourth quarter of Game 6. It remains to be seen if Hack-A-Simmons pays off in Game 7, but it’s certainly been something of a revelation this series, which has been Simmons’ worst as a pro.
All of that said - the Sixers are massive favorites at online gambling sites to win Game 7.
Atlanta Hawks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Game 7 Moneyline
- Atlanta Hawks +250
- Philadelphia 76ers -300
The -300 odds that the Sixers have entering the game represent the idea that roughly three out of four times, they win this game.
The online sportsbooks seem massively confident in their ability to overcome a feisty Hawks team who have clearly been playing above their weight in this series.
Atlanta Hawks vs. Philadelphia 76ers Game 7 Spread
- Atlanta Hawks +7.0 (-110)
- Philadelphia 76ers -7.0 (-110)
The Hawks last played in Philadelphia in Game 5, and the spread was mostly the same, vacillating between Hawks +7.0 and Hawks +7.5.
That game finished in dramatic fashion, with the Hawks coming back from being down 26 points to not only cover the spread but win the game.
It’s worth noting that a lot of that comeback came against the Philadelphia bench - a mistake that coach Doc Rivers is not likely to make again.
A spot in the Eastern Conference Finals is on the line, and both the Hawks and the Sixers - and online sports betting fans - are raring to go.
Game 7 kicks off at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday and will be broadcast on TNT.
