- Betting on the teams scoring at the LIV Golf Invitational Portland event is a unique option not available at most golf events.
- The team with the best all average was the 4 Aces(+350). The 4 Aces also had the best average for their top three golfers.
- Despite the second-worst average World Golf Ranking, the Fireballs(+500) may be a strong bet based on their three best players.

Betting On Teams Instead Of Individuals
Part of what makes the LIV Golf Tour so intriguing to bettors is the team aspect. The team format for LIV Golf is scored as such: the best score from each of the first two rounds of the tournaments plus the best three scores on the third and final round. The lowest-scoring team wins.
The addition of new golfers makes it hard to compare LIV teams based on their first result, but comparing each team’s average World Golf Ranking creates a more fair basis for judging each team.

Adjusting Based On LIV Scoring
Betting on each team by average results indicates that 4 Aces(+350) and the Majesticks(+700) are the best bets of the tournaments, but considering that at most only three players scoring count for a team’s score, averaging out the top three players on each team instead of all four golfers may make more sense.
Doing so creates some interesting changes:
- The Fireballs(+500) move from second to last in average World Golf Rankings to second-best once removing Eugenio Chacarra’s 1,804th ranking.
- All three golfers for the 4 Aces (Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, and Talor Gooch) rank within the top 40. No other team has more than one such golfer.
- The Smash team headlined by Brooks Koepka had the largest difference between team-wide average and top three average. They went from 475 to 87.33 when removing Chase Koekpa.
- The overall leader when calculating both their average World Golf Ranking and their top three’s average rankings was the betting favorite, the 4 Aces at +350. The 4 Aces may have the shortest odds, but they may also be the best bet at the LIV Golf Invitational Portland.
