It will be hard to bet against Forte, as the horse has had a terrific start to his career. Forte has now won five of his six career starts, including three Grade I Stakes races.
Odds swung in Forte’s favor after winning his first race of 2023 at the Fountain of Youth Stakes.
Although it was a Grade II race, Forte’s dominant win reaffirmed bettors that Forte’s incredible jockey, Irad Ortiz Jr., will continue his success at the Kentucky Derby.
Irad Ortiz Jr. had 20 first place finishes last year in Grade I Stake races. Ortiz Jr. and Forte won their first race together in 2023 on Saturday, giving value to Forte’s +400 odds on horse betting sites.
Arabian Knight Still a Good Bet at +550
Arabian Knight has only run one race in 2023, a Grade III Stakes race in which he took home first place.
The young horse is fast and has a great jockey in John R. Velasquez.
Velasquez is incredibly experienced, with 6,486 first place finishes in over 35,000 starts.
Arabian Knight is expected to race in either the Santa Anita Derby or the Arkansas Derby prior to the Kentucky Derby. A win in either of these Grade I races will improve the horses’ odds to win the Kentucky Derby.
Take Note of Tapit Trice at +1400 Odds
Tapit Trice has 14-to-1 odds to win the Kentucky Derby. In Tapit Trice’s most recent victory, he outraced a horse ridden by Forte’s jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. by over eight lengths.
Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher is the trainer of Forte and Tapit Trice. Pletcher’s horses had three first place finishes at the Fountain of Youth Stakes. Tapit Trice’s jockey, Luis Saez, has 61 first place finishes in 290 starts in 2023.
The duo will look to claim another victory at the Kentucky Derby in May. Tapit Trice has great value at +1400 on online gambling sites because of his speed, trainer, and jockey.
