DANVILLE, Va. – Caesars Entertainment has officially partnered with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to develop Caesars Virginia.
The project breaks ground in Danville, VA this week, and will cost up to $650 million – much of which the two entities claim will boost tourism and the economy of Danville.
Caesars claims in a press release that the project “ will create thousands of construction and operational jobs”.
The current schedule for the project sees an opening date in 2024.

Caesars Virginia will be one of the four approved casinos in Virginia, with one outstanding casino license remaining after Richmond’s voters did not approve it.

Caesars President and Chief Operating Officer Anthony Carano described the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians as a valued partner of Caesars, and praised Caesars’ geographic spread as adding more value to the Caesars Rewards program.

Richard Sneed, Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, also praised the partnership that the Band and Caesars have worked on over the years, and noted his expectations that the resort will be first-class.
“This venture is a vital opportunity for our nation and our people. We are excited to be expanding our longstanding and successful partnership with Caesars Entertainment to develop a first-class resort that will be defined by luxury and service that Caesars’ guests have known and come to expect,” Sneed said.
