- Michigan’s Gaming Control Board has authorized live dealer games in the state.
- Currently, only Evolution is allowed to provide them, although they are going to partner with other providers.
- This means that live dealer baccarat, blackjack and roulette is expected to go live ASAP.
LANSING, Mich. - Michigan, in the wake of significant success in the first six months of it’s sports betting and online gambling legalization, is moving to make further allowances for online gamblers. As of Thursday, the Michigan Gaming Control Board has authorized Evolution to offer live dealer casino games online.
Live dealer games are a tried and true method of replicating the casino experience when playing at home or on a mobile device.
The basic conceit of live dealer games is that it can be hard to trust an automated dealer, but it is easier to trust a dealer you can see. This allows bettors to have more peace of mind when playing games like blackjack, which is wholly reliant on the cards being dealt to them.
Currently, only Evolution is authorized to offer these live dealer games as part of their live dealer services.
However, multiple online gambling providers are expected to partner with them, which means many of Michigan’s online casinos will likely have these games as available options.
BetMGM and DraftKings are among the online casino operators expected to offer Evolution’s live dealer games as part of their casinos in Michigan.
Notably, all of the dealers will be located in one area - a studio in Southfield, MI.
The plans for which games will be offered are fairly standard for live dealer games all over the internet. Evolution will offer blackjack, baccarat and roulette. If the ratio of available games is close to what it tends to be at online casinos, bettors can expect to see a lot more blackjack than the other two - it tends to be the most popular live dealer casino game.
Michigan seems to be willing to build on the runaway success of their first six months of online gambling, and it’s intriguing to wonder where they might go next.
