- Undefeated favorite Nadal has been forced to retire due to a career-ending injury, opening the Kentucky Derby odds for other horses.
- Charlatan now has the second shortest odds at +500 to win the race.
- Sports bettors also taking action on Tiz The Law and Maxfield.
LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Triple Crown running has gotten a bit more unpredictable with the sudden retiring of undefeated racehorse Nadal.
Nadal, who initially had the shortest odds to win the Kentucky Derby, has suffered from a left front lateral condylar fracture.
The injury immediately required surgery and ended the Bay Colts career. Now horse race bettors are taking action on other horses, like Charlatan, Tiz The Law, and Maxfield, spicing up the odds.
Charlatan Gaining Support
Charlatan, now with the second shortest odds to win the Kentucky Derby, is who horse race bettors should be taking a look at.
Kentucky Derby Winner
- Tiz The Law +400
- Charlatan +500
- Maxfield +600
- Authentic +700
- Honor A P +1600
Horse race bettors looking to get in on some trifecta and exacta bets may also want to pay attention to the other favorites, Tiz The Law and Maxfield.
Wagering on these three horses for the trifecta may be a good bet as all these horses are proven and are garnering a lot of horse race bettor attention.
Nadal Career-Ending Injury
Horse race bettors taking action on the Kentucky derby were shocked to hear about the injury that took out Nadal.
Nadal’s Owner George Bolton expressed sadness of the three-year-old colt’s career coming to an abrupt end before the derby.
"It requires two screws," said Bolton on Nadal’s injury. "He is now going to become a stallion. It's very sad, obviously. I just got the call this morning. It's a call you never want to get in horse racing. "He retires undefeated. He retires, thank God, on a soon-to-be recovery. He gave us four great races."
The Kentucky Derby has been postponed until September due to the COVID-19 outbreak. This gives bettors ample time to take action at online gambling sites.
