- Nuvei is now a licensed payment processing supplier in West Virginia for sportsbooks and iGaming platforms.
- West Virginia is the third state to offer Nuvei products to their USA online gambling players, with Colorado and Indiana already using their services.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Nuvei Corporation, a global payment processing provider, has been given the green light to work in the sports betting and iGaming markets of West Virginia.
The Canadian company is a leader in payment technologies for various online and mobile sportsbooks and iGaming platforms around the world but they are seeking to make a bigger name for themselves within the United States markets.
This latest win in West Virginia is a stepping stone for them toward their expansion in the US.
“We are thrilled to have met the requirements to operate in yet another state as we work on our U.S. online gaming industry expansion,” said Philip Fayer, Nuvei’s chairman and CEO. “We look forward to serving the West Virginia iGaming and sports betting industry with our innovative payment technology that empowers gaming operators to improve conversions and take advantage of greater revenue opportunities.”
Nuvei In West Virginia
Nuvei put in an application with the West Virginia Lottery Commission seeking licensure to be an iGaming Interim Supplier and a Sports Wagering Interim Supplier for multiple platforms in the state.
On Thursday, they received their licenses to officially offer their services to sports wagering and iGaming outlets statewide.
Sports betting was legalized in West Virginia in 2018 and has since grown as an industry. With their new licenses, Nuvei can be a supplier for any number of iGaming and sportsbook operators in compliance with the rules and regulations for each type of gambling set by the Mountain State.
The Outlook For Nuvei In The US
Nuvei has been operational in Colorado and Indiana as of this past summer. They provide their services in these states for new legal sports wagering platforms just getting their starts.
Customers from both states must be 21 and over and are able to bet on all types of sporting events from the NFL to the MLB. West Virginia marks the third state to have Nuvei as a payment processing solution where players will see a similar experience given to them like that of those in Colorado and Indiana.
With sports betting legalization on the rise in the nation, having 17 states with platforms that Nuvei could supply with their technology, the company is looking to continue its US expansion.
For now, they’re embracing their new state of West Virginia and the potential gambling platforms they will partner with as their business continues to grow.
