- Parx Interactive is a local company out of Pennsylvania, having the Steelers keep their deals in-state.
- This partnership does not cover in-stadium sports betting but is instead an advertising partnership.
PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Steelers are partnering with Parx Interactive, in a move billed as “two of Pennsylvania’s best teams” joining the same team.
This pairing makes a lot of sense - Parx Interactive began at a racetrack in Pennsylvania, having originally operated under the name Philadelphia Park for many years, so they’re intimately familiar with the Pennsylvania gaming market.
The Steelers, of course, are the most successful NFL team in the state, with six Super Bowl rings to their name.
This deal will consist of marketing and advertising partnerships - Parx will be able to market themselves as a Steelers partner, and the Steelers will open their fanbase up to the potential of online gambling with Parx.
Parx: Tapping Into The Steelers Nation
Matthew Cullen, Senior VP of Parx iGaming and Sports, praised the Steeler fanbase and noted that their passion was a big draw for Parx.
"Steelers fans are passionate and their love of the game is legendary," Cullen said, "We look forward to tapping into that passion and providing Steelers Nation with an outstanding entertainment experience in all forms of iGaming."
The partnership will include a season-long competition to find “The Ultimate Steelers Fan”, which will award a ticket to each away game of the 2022-2023 NFL season at the end of the competition.
The Steelers: Unique Prizes And Experiences
For the Steelers, this partnering seems to be focused on providing their fans with as good of an NFL gaming experience as can be found.
They kept the company they chose in-state by partnering with Parx, and one may wonder what that could mean down the line, should sports betting be allowed at NFL stadiums in Pennsylvania.
For now, the Steelers seem focused on the present, and Steelers VP of Sales and Marketing Ryan Huzjak praised Parx as a worthy partner for the storied franchise.
“We’re excited to bring Parx Interactive into the fold as a proud online casino partner,” Huzjak said. “We think Steelers fans will enjoy the Parx Interactive platform and the opportunity to compete for unique Steelers prizes and experiences.”
Online gambling fans can only wait with bated breath and hope that this deal, along with other deepening ties between NFL teams and gambling operators yield official licensed NFL betting sooner rather than later.
