- PlayUp has announced plans for mobile sportsbooks in Indiana and Iowa.
- They also plan to expand their New Jersey offerings to include iGaming.
- Their Iowa and Indiana sportsbooks will be operated via a partnership with Caesar’s entertainment.
LAS VEGAS - PlayUp has reportedly gained access to three new states for sports betting and iGaming offerings.
PlayUp is an Australian betting and entertainment company, and currently operates in Colorado, as well as in New Zealand, Australia, and India.
The three new states that it will be entering - pending regulatory approval - are Indiana, Iowa and New Jersey.
While PlayUp was already expected to launch a sportsbook in New Jersey, it has opted to add iGaming to that portfolio as well.
Meanwhile, in Indiana and Iowa, the online sportsbook will be the focus - and will begin the process of going online as soon as regulatory approval is received.
The expansion of sports betting in Indiana and Iowa could be a big boost for PlayUp, as those markets are fairly large and also fairly new.
Indiana And Iowa Sports Betting
Indiana’s sports betting has been live since September of 2019, so less than two years, and April’s sports betting handle in the state was more than $230 million.
Iowa only allowed online-only sports betting registration at the very end of 2020, meaning it’s a market that is poised for online sportsbook growth.
Iowa’s handle for sports betting was $118 million in April.
In both Indiana and Iowa, PlayUp will be partnering with Caesar’s Entertainment to offer mobile sports betting options.
New Jersey iGaming
As far as New Jersey goes, PlayUp secured their partnership with Parx Casino to operate a mobile sportsbook in the state in early 2021.
However, they are now expanding those plans to include iGaming, which is a fairly lucrative market in New Jersey. The total handle for New Jersey iGaming was more than $100 million in April.
